This is the time of the auto racing season which fans dread. There is NO major racing action. Formula 1, NASCAR, Champ Car, and the IRL are all in their respective offseasons. Craving for some speed, I watched the Race of Champions streaming through a tiny window on my computer monitor from the other side of the Atlantic. Maybe there is some racing on the Speed Channel, the thing is, I don’t know because I don’t have the Speed Channel.

The first event of 2008 that will bring gearheads out of solitary confinement is the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. A 24-hour endurance race in America’s historic speedway with stars from all types of American racing series battling it out, this will definitely kick-start the fan’s pulse. Look for the Rolex towards the end of January.
